Colorado Proud To Host Roundtable On Online Agriculture | Western Colorado


An online virtual panel discussion sponsored by Colorado Proud will address the topic “Growing, Evolving and Thriving: Farmers and Ranchers” Wednesday at noon.

The panel will be comprised of Colorado agriculture and food panelists and discuss this season’s opportunities and strategies.

Danielle Trotta, Colorado Proud Program Manager is the moderator.

n Colorado Agriculture Commissioner Kate Greenberg of the Colorado Department of Agriculture discusses diversity and inclusion, work, rural versus urban farming

n Steve Ela, ELA Family Farms, discussing supply and demand, minority-owned farms, multigenerational succession planning

n Rex Moore, Rock River Ranches, discussing personal and economic growth, infrastructure changes, best practices

n Becca Jablonski, assistant professor and extension economist of food systems, Colorado State University, discussing trends, agricultural projections, agricultural statistics of Colorado versus United States.

The virtual roundtable will feature a roundtable and Q&A on the physical, operational and cultural growth of Colorado agriculture after a complex year, and share lessons to help farmers, ranchers, agricultural professionals and communities.

Colorado Proud is a program of the Colorado Department of Agriculture; the roundtable is open to the media, Colorado Proud members, agricultural industry professionals and the general public.
